Matthew is an Artist and a Freelance Photographer.
In his Freelance context Matthew will work closely alongside you to develop an understanding of the perspective that will best communicate your ideas, projects or products. This could be a dynamic, heavily stylized set of shots or any number of creative images for your promotional material.
Educated at the Royal College of Art, Matthew uses a contemplative approach, seeking form, context, using light and composition as a medium to make images of a powerful and compelling quality. Working with High Resolution Digital Cameras, Studio Flash Lighting or available light, Matthew strives to give a high degree of control and empathy for the subject.
Matthew operates from his studio in London's Hackney Wick, in the centre of a thriving artistic community on the very edge of the rapidly changing 2012 Olympic site.
Taciturn about his Art work, Matthew is reluctant to impose an approach to his images on the viewer. Rather his interest lies in exploring the relationship between image and viewer, the human and their environment, the desire of the onlooker to interpret images. He has exhibited widely in the UK at locations such as The Royal West Academy, The Royal College of Art, the Glasshouse in Coventry, The Smokehouse Gallery and Hoopers Gallery in London. He regularly works as a Tutor at the Royal College of Art, his work is held in a number of private collections and has worked with Make Poverty History, QES investments, The Saatchi Gallery and the Gasworks Gallery .
